Tragic death of a Scooter rider who was crushed by the wheel of a car in a road accident. The incident took place on Asian Highway-48 near Kalua Bridge in Telipara under Banarhat Police Station.

According to police and local sources, the deceased was identified as Maiti Lama, 48, a resident of Shishujhumra under Birpara police station in Alipurduar district. The husband and wife were sitting on a scooter on their way to Gayerkata from Birpara when they were hit by an LPG car from behind. Due to the incident, the traffic was stopped for some time. Then the police came and took the dead body from the spot.
