Kolkata: Former President Pranab Mukherjee has passed away. The Center has declared seven days of state mourning to pay homage to the late leader. The West Bengal government today decided to close all government and government-aided offices and institutions.

If the funeral is on another day, the state government will pay homage to the late former president on the same day, the state government said. September 1 is State Police Day. After the death of Pranab Mukherjee, that day will be celebrated on September 8.
