An Other ACCIDENT Reported from Gairkata - W2B

A Scooter rider was seriously injured in a road accident. The incident took place on Asian Highway 48 at Ambadipa in Gairkata under Banarhat police station in Dhupguri block. According to police and local sources, the injured was identified as Pradeep Barua, 58. He is a resident of Conger Nagar Colony in Gayerkata. Pradeep Babu is working in Gairkata High School.

At around 11:30 this morning, while crossing the road with a scooter, a container hit his scooter from the direction of Gairkata. He fell and the scooter twisted. Pradeep Babu received a serious head injury. Locals rescued the injured and took him to Birpara State General Hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment there. Police came to the spot and took the scooter to Banarhat police station. Police have also seized the deadly vehicle.
